Subject: WinMosaic graphics problem
OK, I've got Mosaic up and running from windows, using the winsock
over a Lanera TCP protocol stack. I have the suggested gif and mpeg
viewers installed, BUT... when I retrieve a graphics image (gif,
jpeg, mpeg, whatever) and try to view it, I get an error message that
the current graphics mode cannot display the 256-color images properly,
even under the "8-bit" option. I can view the same graphics (at least gifs,
haven't tried others yet) from DOS and they work fine. I take it that
this is a Windows configuration problem. If so, how do I fix it?

Subject: NNTP server won't give me access
>From scanning all the articles in this newsgroup, it seems that most NNTP
servers are not public. However, I have an account on the system at
Columbia; is that not enough to get access to the server? The response I
get when trying is something to the effect of "you do not have permission
to read." Soes my system just not allow such access without going
through the system newsreader program, rather than accessing it through
Trumpet for Windows?
Thanks!
